A man from the future (Sam Rockwell) invades a Los Angeles fast-food joint in an attempt to recruit participants for a mission to save the future of human civilization. Despite his initial hesitation, he manages to gather a group of determined people who are willing to participate. The goal is to use the program to modify an AI program that a nine-year-old boy is developing so that it doesn't destroy all of humanity. The enemy to saving all of humanity are teenagers addicted to cell phones as perennial zombies.
