The Seasons is a comedy drama set in a theatrical setting that follows a long-standing relationship between two actors as it begins to subtly but inevitably fall apart. The universal tale of love, disappointment and new beginnings is set in a world of rehearsals, premieres and applause, where the role being played is often dangerously intertwined with the real one.
The story is divided into three acts, three theatre seasons and three plays - from the playful Peter Pan, to the dramatic Nora, to the magical A Midsummer Night's Dream. Each production reflects a different phase of the marital relationship, from the initial attempt to overcome the crisis to the painful but liberating acceptance of the truth. The private lives of the characters are constantly intertwined with the reality of the stage. Challenging emotions, jealousy, fear of abandonment and the desire for closeness are balanced with surprising humour, situational comedy and self-irony. The result is a dramedy that tells with lightness and insight how hard it is to hold on to love as the world changes around you, and what it's like to find your own role again - on stage and in life.
