Rudolf, Hedwig and their four children live in a large house with a beautiful, well-kept garden. They celebrate every day with a dinner together, reminisce about their beloved Italy, enjoy weekend trips to the water and walks with friends. However, from behind the walls of their home, disturbing noises and the occasional desperate scream can be heard. Rudolf Höss is the commander of the Auschwitz concentration camp. Jonathan Glazer's chilling film about the banality of evil won the Grand Prix at Cannes thanks to its exceptional treatment.
