Telegraph Gallery is not just the space of our main exhibition hall. It is also a platform that creates a programme for several floors of the entire building. And this time, as part of the European Heritage Days, we have decided to present a short-term exhibition with works of Kristián Németh from the Robert Runták Collection for several days in the Telegraph Cinema.
Kristián Németh is an intermedia artist who, in his diverse work, deals with identity, corporeality, and the fragility of being, connecting universal themes with intimate content. From the thematization of institutional criticism and power relations in the context of the Catholic Church, he moves on to social themes and personal observations. The wide dispersion of ideas is also reflected in the diverse artistic means - from objects, spatial installations, sound recordings and videos to minimalist interventions and directed performances. He commonly connects individual forms into complex exhibition environments characterized by minimalist solutions and an emphasis on detail. Németh's works oscillate between symbolic and abstract forms with a tendency to conceptualize excerpts from lived reality, often with an emphasis on a characteristic, beautifully difficult emotional dispersion.
