Robert Runták

Robert Runták graduated from the Faculty of Law at Palacký University in Olomouc. He began his professional career at the bailiff's office in Přerov, where he has been director since 2001. In addition, he has long been involved in business and investment activities. From 2009 to 2012, he was co-owner of SK Sigma Olomouc. He was introduced to art by chance in 2007, when he purchased his first painting while furnishing his family home and gradually began to systematically collect modern and contemporary art. Today, his collection is one of the most extensive private collections in the Czech Republic. He focuses primarily on Czech art, but is gradually expanding his interest to the international scene. He is a member of the Tate Modern's acquisition committee for Central and Eastern Europe, where he participates in the selection of works to be included in the institution's collections. In recent years, he has been intensively involved in the development of cultural projects in Olomouc, in particular the construction of the Telegraph cultural center and the Summer Cinema.
