New on the e-shop Telegraph Gallery is an original graphic created by artist Jakub Sýkora.
Jakub Sykora's work was featured as part of Open Studio at the end of his residency at the Telegraph in March 2023. This print was created in a renewed collaboration for a special edition of Telegraph prints and was published in a limited edition of 100. It is produced using the serigraphy technique.
Jakub Sýkora (*1984, Rakovník) studied in 2006-2012 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (studio New Media II, Veronika Bromová; studio Painting I, prof. Jiří Sopko). In 2010 he completed a study stay at Satakunta University of Applied Sciences in Kankaanpää, Finland. In 2013 he was the winner of the Jan Zrzavý Prize and in 2014 he was a finalist for the Critics' Prize for Young Painting.
During his studies, Sýkora began to blend the techniques of computer sketching and analogue painting, which he has used to this day. He often focuses on rhythm, structure, repetition and the role of visual ''virtual'' elements, such as cursors or weather forecast widgets.
If you would like to have this artwork in your home, you can purchase it, like other telegraphs, from the Telegraph Gallery reception or our e-shop. And if you'd like to learn more about Jakub Sýkora's work, read an interview with him during his residency at the Telegraph.
