Lucia Tallová is in residence at the Telegraph during May and June. She will present her latest work at the launch of Open Studio in her studio, including a presentation of her work to date. The event is part of the Slovak season in Olomouc.
Lucia Tallová (*1985) is a Slovak visual artist combining traditional painting with installations, objects, collages and photography. Her work is dominated by themes of archive and memory, which she develops through collage and spatial installations. She works with leftover materials, old photographs, furniture or porcelain, from which she builds fictional archives. Her work is characterised by motifs of black ink, dust, ribbons or flowers as symbols of femininity and sentimentality. In her landscape paintings, she uses the technique of embroidery and lace on canvas, creating dreamy landscapes on the border between decorative and minimalism. Tallová works with a cyclical gathering of materials and brings an atmosphere of connecting the past and the present into her exhibition spaces.
