Miracles don't exist... or do they? An affectionate comedy about a grumpy pensioner whose life changes after making one unexpected friendship. Two-time Oscar-nominated director Hannes Holm (A Man Called Ove) joins forces with the star of the international box-office hit The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared to deliver this deeply emotional and universal story. In the heart of a picturesque village in Småland, the cantankerous Ingmar lives a strict and regimented life. Since the death of his wife Inger a few years ago, his relationship with their daughter has gone from strength to strength, and the only things left in his life are his annoying divorced neighbour and his late wife's roses - the last things he still cares about. The hottest and driest summer in living memory is dragging on unbearably, and everyone is waiting for the rain that - it seems - may never come. But thanks to what could be a miracle - or a mere coincidence - Ingmar suddenly finds himself at the centre of events that will change not only his life, but also the fate of the whole village... and perhaps even the world.
