Markéta Garai's artistic feminist research is devoted to the development of a theory of how to depict the human body of a person working in the erotic industry or sex business so that visual art does not promote sexual objectification, slutshaming, secondary victimization, and does not espouse superficial attitudes based on social stigmas and cultural appropriation. Because of her research, she began working as a stripper in 2013 and gradually delved deeper into the issue. Between 2016 and 2018, she responded to her experience with performative performances in and out of galleries (I Am Not This Body, 2016; My Pimp, My Gallerist, 2016; My Gallerist, My Pimp, 2017; Festival of Naked Forms, 2018) and produced audiovisual works (Diary series, 257), which were collectively presented in 2023. She briefly collaborated with the organization Delight Without Risk as a peer worker.
