Beat Generation and Allen Ginsberg

American poet Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) was not only a leading member of the Beat Generation, which made a major contribution to American culture at the turn of the last century, he also greatly influenced not only American but also world poetry through his example, especially his poem Howl, but also Kaddish, not to mention his personal example and influence. Nor can we overlook his legendary visit to Prague in 1965 and the mark he left there. All this and more will be discussed.


This lecture is hosted by Josef Rauvolf, translator of the Beat Generation authors and their leading expert.
