If you're running out of ideas for where to go with your kids or grandkids in the middle of summer, we have a great solution for Telegraph Club members! In July, we invite you to a creative afternoon in the warm and friendly atmosphere of the Telegraph Gallery.
A creative afternoon full of collages for children and adults will take you to quiet, poetic worlds inspired by the exhibition of Slovak artist Lucie Tallová: I Wish I Was Made of Stone.
Tallová works with objects, their memories and memory itself in her art. Her sensitive approach reveals the subtle relationships between shapes, structures and meanings as if she were conducting a silent archaeological exploration, where the focus is not on interpretation, but on a space for personal reading.
During the afternoon we will work with a fragment of the artist's work, which will become the starting point for your own collage - a scene, composition or story made of paper. The Telegraph Gallery team will be on hand to guide you through collage techniques and support you in your own creation.
This creative afternoon is for Telegraph Club members accompanied by children or grandchildren - we recommend bringing two, but if you'd like to bring more children we can certainly arrange. The event is designed to be a shared creative activity that adults are also welcome to join.
