CURRENT ARTIST ON RESIDENCE: LUCIA TALLOVÁ

Lucia Tallová (*1985) is a Slovak visual artist who combines traditional painting with installations, objects, collages, and photography. Her work is dominated by the themes of archive and memory, which she develops through fictional collages and spatial installations. She works with remnants of materials, old photographs, furniture, and porcelain to construct fictional archives. Her work is characterized by motifs such as black ink, dust, ribbons, and flowers, serving as symbols of femininity and sentiment. In her landscape painting, she employs embroidery and lace techniques applied directly onto canvas, creating dreamlike landscapes at the intersection of decorativeness and minimalism. Tallová works with the cyclical collecting of materials and brings an atmosphere of connection between past and present into exhibition spaces.
